Essential Internet Skills: Use OpenID to secure identity and passwords

There are five very convincing reasons for you to use your OpenID nowadays. So, what is OpenID? How to use it? And How to get it? An OpenID is in the form of a unique URL, and is authenticated by the user's 'OpenID provider' (that is, the entity hosting their OpenID URL). OpenID allows you to use an existing identity to sign in to multiple websites, without needing to create new passwords.

1. Secure. You are not needed to reveal your password but to your trusted provider such as yahoo, google etc. Just log in your yahoo account, for example, then your unique yahoo OpenID can be used to access other website or account.

4. Free. Feel free to create one by using your yahoo account, google account, blogspot account. It is not necessary to signup a new OpenID account. They are existing at everywhere.

5. It is special. Since the OpenID will become more and more common nowadays, your favourite unique ID will no longer belong to you if it has been registered by other person.
