Blogger tips: Submit Your Blogspot Sitemap to Google Search Engine

The purpose of submitting a Sitemap is to tell Google about pages on your site which might not otherwise be discovered by Google. As a result, this is considered as a good Search Engine Optimize (SEO) approach for webmaster. Besides that, it is a good idea to resubmit Sitemap every time you update the contents of your blog to make sure Google know about it. Three steps to accomplish this SEO approach are shown below:

1. Log in your Google Webmaster tools and select "Site Configuration" then "Sitemaps". Click one here if you do not have.

2. Main key point here is: your submitted address should be

for the contents below 500 posts, just submit:
http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

or for the contents below 1000 posts, just submit:
http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=501&max-results=1000

or for the contents below 1500 posts, just submit:
http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=501&max-results=1000
http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1001&max-results=1500

and so on for blogspot. Please let me know if you have another good idea. I will be very appreciate it.

3. Don't forget to resubmit them from time to time if you have changed the contents of your blog by using resubmit button only. It is very important to avoid to become a spam to Google by submitting duplicate sitemap.

Of course, you can use this feature to do SEO in other website instead of blogspot as well.

Besides that, if you are interested in Yahoo! and Bind search engine, you can submit your sitemap by modifying URL below in your browse.

and for Yahoo! search engine
http://search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/ping?sitemap=http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/atom.xml%3Fredirect%3Dfalse%26start-index%3D1%26max-results%3D500

and for ask.com search engine
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://YOURSITE.blogspot.com/rss.xml

by replacing YOURSITE to your site name.

Note: Time is needed for Google to index your URLs. As a result, the number of indexed URLs will be increased from time to time.

Last but not least, you can check your site in Google Index first.

Good luck and have a nice day^^
