Free Domain For Personal Use: co.cc + blogspot.com

Finally, I have registered the so-called free domain (http://xaivierchia.co.cc) for xaivierblog.blogspot.com. However, this free domain is only for personal instead of commercial, which will be charged a renewal fee of $3 annually. Besides, everyone (personal user) only got two free domains. After register this domain, you are required to set up it in 48 hours. If not, it will be canceled.

With this free domain, I set up a URL Forwarding in such a way that everyone can reach my blog via my new domain, http://xaivierchia.co.cc. Besides, you can hidden your real URL and displace it with the new domain. However, I do not think it is a good idea since visitors may not be able to copy or record the real URL for further review. This service (URL Forwarding) will function immediately after the set up is completed. Therefore, next time, you can just give your friend your new domain.

Besides, you also can replace entire URL with the free domain. However, you need to wait up to 48 hours. This is because it takes about two days for the CNAME changes to propagate over the Internet. Next, as Blogger.com promises, "We won't leave your readers behind!
http://xaivierchia.blogspot.com will redirect to your custom domain.", all your previous URL will automatically forward to the new domain. Nevertheless, I simply like to use my blogspot.com instead of .co.cc.

A very clear and straight forward instruction is available in https://www.co.cc/blogger/blogger.php. All you need to do is just follow the procedure. Lastly, do visit the sources stated in below if you are interested to own one or two free domains for your blog. That's all for today. Cash out Google Adsense Payment by using Western Union Quick Cash:

After around 18 months of blogging, I think this is the time for me to cash out some money from my Adsense to make other investment. In fact, this is my first payment. Therefore, as a record for future cash out, I would like to jot down the procedure I have taken to make a payment from Google Adsense account in this post. This post shows a step-by-step procedure I took to cash out my Google Adsense revenue.

1. After one day of the payment date (15th of every month) you can go to local Western Union agency to pick up your money. In my case, the payment is only available on 26th, actually. Nevertheless, it is still faster and cheaper than other payment options.

3. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g. National DI, Passport, or Driver's license) to verify your identity. Sometimes, it requires a duplicated copy of the ID. So, do bring it along.

4. Don't forget to jot down the following information, which can be found in your Adsense account, for the sake of verification.

i. Sender's information
(Can be found at the 'details' link on the payment line of the Payments page)

ii. Amount of payment
(Can be found at the Payment History page)

iii. Unique MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number)
(Can be found at the 'details' link next to the Payment Issued line on the Payment History page)

New year new resolution. I guess spammers and scammers also got their new resolutions. Don't they? So, what kind of new year resolution a spammer supposedly want? Spamming at least one thousand users in Internet every second? How about scammers, what they supposedly want in this new year? To increase 20% successful rate in email scam activities in this new year? Haha, actually, I also no idea about these kind of stuff. I am just a blogger.

Anyway, the main purpose of this post to say "Thank You" for my provider, Blogger.com. Your spam filtering system is really good. 1. Stats
This feature allows blogger to track and identify which are their popular posts and which are the traffic source in their blog. The information of traffic source consists of referring URLs, referring sites and search keywords, which are very useful for blogger, as a reference, to improve the content of their blog. This is because blogger can use these functions to identify their strength, that is, which content can attract visitors. After that, blogger can move forward toward that particular direction to improve their blog and provide more related post to fulfill their visitors.

2. Comments
Worry about spammers attack your Blogspot? Just like any email service, blogger.com provides a spam filter to help your get rid of spam comments in your Blogspot. However, in my account, I found that the comment which is set for "Registered Users" only, apparently, will not be affected by this service. This is quite fine since it is seldom for registered users to be spammers. For those open comment to anyone, this service can help to filter the spammer in advance and save our precious time.

Precaution When Using Blogger Template Designer To Enrich Your Blog

This was a horrible experience for me yesterday. After select and apply my favorite Blogger Template, I found that my Yahoo! Pipes did not show any updated in my blog!! Usually, the Yahoo! Pipes will show around 25 latest posts from Xaivier Blog from time to time.

Without any hesitation, I went and checked my Google Site via Google Webmaster Tools immediately. Again, found that my submitted links were 211 but with ZERO URLs in web index!!!!

This is impossible. I told myself. But I knew that was something wrong in the new template. Luckily, I have downloaded the old template last week. After upload the old template and wait about 20 minutes, finally, it shown 152 URLs in web index after I resubmitted my Sitemaps again.

Therefore, the lesson I have learned from this experience is, always backup the old template before changing it to a new ones. Besides that, some important code in old template might be very useful in the future if you have modified your old template to do some kind of SEO.

To sum up, always back up the old template before make any changing for it, then compare the different between the new and old templates. Last but not least, customizing the new template according to what you have did before in old template. For example, don't forget to add the tracking code of Google Analytics, otherwise Google Analytics might not provide sufficient information for you.

The purpose of submitting a Sitemap is to tell Google about pages on your site which might not otherwise be discovered by Google. As a result, this is considered as a good Search Engine Optimize (SEO) approach for webmaster. Besides that, it is a good idea to resubmit Sitemap every time you update the contents of your blog to make sure Google know about it. Three steps to accomplish this SEO approach are shown below:

Blogger tips: Customizing Blogger HTML layout to suit your needs

It is quite difficult to find a suitable layout for your Blogspot. It is often too big or too small when we are using the standard template in Blogspot. As a result, the best and easy-going solution is customizing your layout to suit your need. There are three steps to accomplish this task.

1. Lo-in your blogspot account then click "Layout" and "Edit HTML" as shown below.

2. Search "/* Outer-Wrapper" after click "Expand Widget Templates". In the "outer-wrapper", you can edit your layout margin and its width. For example, I have added an extra code "width: 1100px" to make my web page always maintain at 1100 px only regardless user trying to increase or decrease its size. In other words, it just like a pdf file with a fix boundary.

3. Finally, you can just customize your "main-wrapper" size which is your place for posting and your "sidebar-wrapper" size by changing their width value and margin value.

Bear in mind that your width value of "Outer-wrapper" must always bigger than the sum of the width value of "Main-wrapper" and "sidebar-wrapper" and their margin size to avoid over dimension problem.

First of all, using an animated banner that cycles through your feeds will be an easy way to promote your website contents. Besides that, you can use BuzzBoost to republishe your burned feed's content as go-anywhere HTML. For example, you can promote your blog on another site which managed by you. Using a FeedCount is another cool way to promote your feed. It will always display your feed's current circulation, as calculated by FeedBurner, with graphical dynamic. Moreover, you can create your own free FeedCount by customizing it in a second.
