A Shortcut to Calculate the Square of any Two-digit Number Manually

It will be impressive if you can square any two-digit number in front of your friends without a calculator. The primarily requirement of this tips is you must very familiar with the calculation of the square of any single-digit number.

Let me assume that you are very familiar with it, then all you need to do is find a number, r that will make the first digit number become zero by adding (or minus). For example, the x of the square of 56 can be 4 or 6. If we choose 4, 56 + 4 is 60 (or if we choose 6, 56 - 6 is 50).

Next, all you need to do is using this equation: (Y - x)*(Y + x) + r². For the case that Y = 56, x = 4, then we have 52*60 + 16 = 3120 + 16 = 3136

In fact, the secret behind this tips is embedded in the equation itself, that is:

Y² = Y² - x² + x²

Y² = (Y² + Y*x - Y*x - x²) + x²
Y² = (Y - x).(Y + x) + x²

Lunch, Dinner, Meal Price all Increases 10 percent (Malaysia 2011)

Inflation really powerful. Just now i went and buy dinner, you know, its price has been 10% increased, suddenly. From RM5.00 to RM5.50!!! And it happens in small hawker center!!! And it happens in a poor student like me!!! The boss just explained that the price of raw materials is increased, so they need to "adjust" the price of their food as well. Really? Maybe, but I think another reason is the hawker center always crowd of people. Supply and demand theory: When demand is higher than supply, the price, of course, will increase, and vice versa.
 
In fact, previously, RM5.00 per meal already make me feel very bad. And now, it is even worse. Life is getting more and more difficult. Meal always increases RM0.50 every year. The price of a meal already similar to the price of fast food. What I observed is, the price of fast food does not increase, but the "slow food" always increases annually!!! Without invest our money wisely, it is really a trouble.

I really cannot image how people live in here.With salary of RM2200 per month for a fresh graduate, life essential things such as living, eating, transportation, insurance, communication and clothing, already cost most of our salary.

However, in the same time, other things also getting cheaper, e.g. electronic devices, online services etc. Furthermore, nowadays, Google is everything, and we can obtain knowledge easily and even free of charge.

Therefore, I think if we can follow the trend, wisely use those available technologies to improve our-self, then we should be able to buffer the impact of this unstoppable inflation. Moreover, we can easily learn how to manage our money easily compared to decade ago. And, most of the sources also free of charge and available in Internet.

Internet is a place for us to accelerate and excel our life besides paying game and socializing. Again, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Albert Einstein. All we need to do is to change, to change to the right direction that will bring us toward success eventually.

This is the game rule of this world. You can either abide by or against it. But without deeply understand the game rule, you will never ever win the game. That's all for today. Sometimes, we are just too used to living in a our familiar circumstance or comfort zone. Due to busy working routine day after day, we almost forget to think. To think about our life, To think about why I am doing particular thing right now instead of other activities. To think about the meaning of our existing. To think about the fact that everyone can make a difference to this world. To think about anything we want to think.

However, it is very dangerous if we just simply think about anything we want to think without any terms and conditions or guidances. Guidance help us to direct our life toward the right direction. Without guidance, our existing is just like a ship in a middle of ocean without a compass. A ship that is controlled by the trend of weather, wind and wave. Therefore, it is our duty to find out our own compass.

Besides having our compass, we also need a map. A map that consists of our long term goals and short term goals. A map that reminds us about our goals from time to time. A map that make our life full of meaning, enthusiasm, passion and happiness.

After having both map and compass, the ultimate task for us is to be a good captain and steering our life properly. A good captain need to check his or her current location based on the map and compress from time to time. Besides, a good captain also need to prepare for unpredictable weather on the ocean. In the meanwhile, it is also very important to ensure that the ship is in good condition. Good captain never give up their ultimate goal, that is, to reach land and to go back his or her home in the end of the journey.

However, there are many attractive and obstacle things on the sea to seduce the captain. The things like laziness and difficulties are the most dangerous enemies to the captain. However, good captain realizes that as long as he or she does not reach the land, the ship will submerge one day in the future. Therefore, good captain need to be very self-discipline and independent without affected by others easily.

For students, do you still remember the moment you get a good result? or you never ever get a good result? If yes, why are you still using the same technique to study? If you really care about your result, you should Learn From Your Mistakes Now. Changing the way you used to use for your study is the first step. The Meaning of Real Life: To Be Yourself - Appreciate

Life is short. No time to take care all expectations from other people. Existing means knowing who you are NOW instead of predicting who you are tomorrow. Let go nonsense and selfish comments.

True is still true. No matter you want it or not. You still need to drink, eat and breath to survive regardless you are the richest person, the smartest person or powerful person.

No matter you want it or not. You still need to earn money to buy water, meal etc to survive. Unless you have achieved financial freedom.

HOWEVER, you still have a choice to make this place a better place to live. Spending more time in REAL world because you never get rid of your responsibility. Get away from your virtual world.You never ever be the HERO you want in virtual world. Besides, there are lots of things you need to settle in REAL world.

Take care your study. No excuse you should have if you have bad results and cannot further study anymore.

Take care your children. No excuse you should have if your children were abused due to your careless.

Take care your spouse. You do need to bring your car for servicing from time to time. Don't you need to accompany your spouse for shopping or traveling from time to time?

Take care your health. No matter how rich you are.You cannot enjoy your wealth without a good health condition.

Take care your parents. Simply show a respect to your parents is more precious than you give them $$$ every month.

Grass is greener on the other side. But is it?

To Be Yourself. Doesn't mean that you can just enjoy your "life" in virtual world. Watch PPS in the morning, playing online game in the afternoon, reading online cartoon and watch TV in the evening ...Have you ever thought to reduce your burden of your parents? Have you ever thought what kind of person you want to be when you grow up? Are you thinking it is not a problem now since everyone is doing the SAME thing.

To Be Yourself. The first thing is knowing what you want now. Ok, you know that you want to play game everyday. Are you sure? Do you have enough money to buy all essential things to survive? Do you own a car, house, good job, etc?

NO!!! REAL world is too terrible!!! NO!!! OK, restart the life just like any game. WRONG!!! The real game is in your REAL life now. It cannot be restart. But it can be fix with patience and persistence.

NO!!! My TRUE love is GONE!!! OK, restart the life just like any game. WRONG!!! WRONG AGAIN!!! TRUE love never gone. But it need your true heart to discover it in your life.

OK, I have true heart. I give all my saving to my "true love". WRONG!!! WRONG AGAIN!!! AGAIN and AGAIN!!!. TRUE love cannot to be brought by your money because TRUE love is priceless. But you might need to use your most valuable thing to own your TRUE love everlasting. YES, using your precious time to stay together, fight together, overcome difficulty, enjoy life together etc.

To be yourself in REAL life is free and can be done by anyone. You are not required to buy a top-up point card to be a better person in REAL life. You are not required to achieve conquer others to succeed in REAL life. All you need to do is appreciate. Appreciate your food, water and air. Appreciate people who love you, especially your parents. Appreciate time. Appreciate life. Appreciate people who help you. Appreciate people who hurt you.

Procedure of Selling / Buying a Second-Hand Car in Malaysia

1. Document preparation
i. Get a set of transfer forms needed in the nearest J.P.J. branch.
a) Borang Semak (TM3).
b) Transfer of ownership form (JPJK3). (JPJK3A is for deceased owner)
c) Form to certify new ownership (TM-AB). (It is needed only if the new owner does not able present to JPJ)

ii. Fill up the form and sign it wherever necessary.

iii. The new owner’s identification card or MyKad have to be certified by:
a) An officer of the Transport Department.
b) A Commissioner of Oaths.
c) A Justice of Peace of J.P.
d) A Judge from the Session Court.

(If you wish to save some money, you could go to J.P.J. office. An officer there will help you certify the above documents.)

2. Puspakom - Car checking
Find the nearest Puspakom center to do this checking.
(please check it at http://www.puspakom.com.my/html/inspection_branches.aspx). Although your car should be in a good condition to pass the test, it is good idea to send it for servicing before sending it for inspection purposes. After that, Puspakom authorities will supply a K5 certificate which is required in the car transferring by the J.P.J. authorities.In my case (private car), it took me about one hour and the cost is just RM30.

3. New insurance purchasing
The new owner is required to buy a new insurance (under his/her name).

4. Submitting all the documents and the transfer form to the J.P.J. for transfer.

P/S: I paid RM250 for so-called "middle man" (Motor Insurance Agent) for processing step 1, 3 and 4 after I settle Puspakom myself. In fact, it was a not bad experience for me in Puspakom. Just drive my car to Puspakom and then wait for checking. That's all. Simple and save money.

Achieve Success via SMART Goal 2011

In order to achieve success, we need to, first of all, set a SMART goal. A SMART goal is a goal which is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and has Time-bound. The first step to set a SMART goal is to know what you want. After setting a SMART goal, we must take action upon it with passion and persistent.

Personally, in order to achieve my ultimate goal, financial freedom, I split my ultimate goal into few SMART goals. The first SMART goal is shown as follows:

1 Specific
– Develop excellent technical skill; enhance personal financial knowledge; maintain spirit (relationship) and health status.

2. Measurable
– Doing research of (7x7) 49 hours per week; Study and investigate stock market of 3x7 (21) hours per day, personal development of (3x12) 36 hours per day, sleep of (7x8) 56 hours per day and remainder of 6 hours for exercising

3. Achievable
– Publish 3 Journal Papers; accumulate 25k investment fund; and have a good relationship everyday.

4. Relevant
- Focus on my research to develop my technical skill, stock market investment to enhance my financial knowledge, and personal development to maintain my spirit (relationship) and health status.

5. Time-bound
– 2010 December to 2011 December

Presentation skills are very important for us to sell ourselves during a meeting, interview or business. Good presentation will not only help us to build a good impression to our clients, and employers, but also help us to build our self-confidence. Here are seven tips for those, who are less experience in presentation, to preparing a powerful presentation by using the power of script.

1. Preparing a script - The purposes of script preparation are to ensure that the time of presentation is monitored properly, to make sure the flow of presentation is organized well, and to avoid redundancy (unnecessary repetition).

2. Next, you might ask your friend to help you to check your script and give you some suggestion to improve it.

3. Capture, record and review the rehearse of your presentation. It is a good idea for you to know how well your presentation and where can be enhanced, such as, is the speed of presentation too fast and not clear? How about body language? Is your body movement too over?

4. Next, asking a suggestion from your good friend or lecturer or senior might also a good idea to develop your presentation style.

5. Practise your eyes contact and face expression.

6. Do not show off your vocabulary during presentation by using confusing or unfamiliar words.

Change Your State to Achieve the Success You Want

According to Anthony Robbin, we need to change our state in order to achieve success. Our state can be changed by changing our focus. This is because what we focus on will subsequently cause what we feel. For example, if we just focus on earning as much money as possible, we might do anything to achieve it. But, if we just focus on thought of earning money is hard, painful, and impossible, then we will end up with what these thought in our life.

Another example likes we just focus on happy, then we always happy since what we focus on it just happy regardless of what we are doing. Pretty simple, huh? However, it is always easier said than done. Therefore, to make it possible, we should make a decision now, that is, “what are we going to focus on?” Besides, we should also know “what does it mean?”

Personally, I make a decision to focus on how to reach financial freedom in my life. It is very important to me since I enjoy my life and I do not want to spend my entire life for earning money. After making this decision, I feel that I have a good direction in my dairy basis. Although there is no magic in real life, I believe that if I keep constantly and never ending focus on what I want, eventually, it will become true.

Lessons from "English for Career Search" Class - An Experience Sharing

Do you like English?

If you ask me this question, the answer will definitely be yes.

I enjoy all of the English classes that I had gone through, especially “English for Career Search” class. I admitted that I select this class due to the reason that it does not require any test or exam. But, later on, I found that the contents that I’m going to learn from this class are exactly what I want and what I need in the near future. I appreciate everything l learnt from it.

Never Ever Limit Our Job Search to One Field only

The most significant lesson that I learnt from this class is from its assignment about job search. Our group managed to interview two respondents holding different positions in the process. Although they also studied in our field (Human Resources), but they have actively involved in other fields like sales and entrepreneurship. This helps us to realize that we should not ever limit our job search to one field only. We should open our eyes wider and explore everything around us to find out opportunities. We may involve in any field as we like if we want to. The only thing we need to do is to constantly improve our knowledge and skills so that we can encounter with any challenges that come to us.

Always Be Prepared with any Questions during Interview
The other module that helps me learn a lot is the job interview. We were arranged to attend to an interview simulation in groups. Averagely, each person was asked two questions. A variety of questions were asked and most of the questions were unexpected. I did not answer well during my session due to my anxiety. But, this becomes a great lesson to me because it reminds me that I should always be prepared with any questions during interview and answer with full confidence. Through this simulation, I am able to correct some of my weaknesses during interview and this may help me a lot during my job search in the future.

Overall, this class teaches me many things which I would never learn from other classes. The knowledge I gained from this class would be remembered well and served as a guideline for me to search for jobs in the future.

Storytelling is a way of communication. The advantage of storytelling is it can be applied in almost any situation and circumstance, such as to be the introduction or the end of a public speaking. People love fantastic stories. However, telling a convincing and interesting story is not a easy task. One of the important method for telling a good story is having an attractive storyline.

Storyline is a framework from the beginning to the end of your story. It describes the sequence of the story in such a way that your listeners have a whole picture about what you want to tell them. It is similar to the way that how engineers and architects build a house, mall, or airport. All of them cannot be done without a proper procedure from foundation to the top of building.

One of the basic framework of storyline is begin with a digestible introduction before go to the contents, and then end up with a reasonable conclusion.

1. Introduction
At the beginning of a story, basic information such who is the main character, where is the place, condition etc, must be described properly in such a way that listeners have a better idea about what is going to tell. Therefore, this is a very crucial part to determine whether the listeners will put attention to the story.

2. Contents
After successfully attracting the attention of listeners, the following steps is keep guiding the listeners from beginning of the story into the situation or events one after one. Again, the sequence is very important to avoid your listeners lose direction in the maze. Yes, all you need to do is directing the listeners experience and enjoy the way go out from the venture maze.

3. Conclusion
Last but not least, don't forget to let the listeners know they are already go out the "maze".

After attacking by spammers several times. I think I should do something to prevent them to contaminate my blog.

Firstly, I have changed my comment setting in such a way that only registered users can drop a comment in blog. It is really very hard for me to make this decision since I love to hearing something from my visitors. However, the thing is I have no free time to "entertain" those spammers.

As you can see, all of them are in the same day and with a very short interval time. So, what does it mean? Personally, I think it is just a so-called "single player spammer". In other words, this spammer tried to create an illusion that few "visitors" were giving their personal comment.

2. Logically, if a visitor who want to make a comment as Anonymous, it is quite illogical for them to leave their name or even the place they from. That's why I always say that "a spammer still a spammer".

3. Lastly, if it is true about the rewards, what is the benefit for me to tell me visitors it is actually a spam and scam email? On the other hand, what is the benefit for them (the spammers) who try to convince my visitor that I am wrong? Yes, more people will be cheated and more money they can "earn".

How to Find Out When You are Chatting with Spam Bot

Personally, I believe a chatting spam bot is fulfilled the following criteria:

1. Random post something to attract your attention or curiosity.

2. Simply ask your question with a general answer. (not specific regarding your question) 

3. Cannot answer a simple question if its programming does not cover them. (in this case)

"For example, are you a spammer?"

Last few days, I feel very suspicious about an account which are constantly trying to chat with me. Since I got some free time, I had decided to figure out who was there. Guess what, another spammer was confirmed within 20 minutes. The content of this verification testing is showed below:

Experience Sharing: AirAsia Vs MAS airline: Choose it upon Your needs

After having a trip to Sabah last few days, I would like to summarize personal experience regarding AirAsia airline and MAS airline services.

First of all, obviously, there are lots of people like to choose AirAsia due to its price. According to my view, actually, what you need to consider is whether you are going to have a visiting or have a trip.

For example, if you just want to go and see your friend about two days by flight. Air Asia might help you to save some money. However, one pre-requirement is you must online booking your ticket early.

On the other hand, if you want have a trip, one week maybe, with a lot of luggage and the distance is far. For me, I would choose MAS airline services.

Why? First of all, once you buy a MAS ticket, it ready includes extra luggage(up to few kg), meal etc. Air Asian, however, will charge each of these kind of services.

Therefore, the best way is to compare the whole package fee instead of just ticket to ticket only.

Ayam Goreng Mcdonald ( Mcdonald Fried Chicken ) - Replace it if low quality

The spicy fried chicken of Mcdonald are always my favorite meals. It is not only due to its recipe of the chicken fries, but also the quality of the chicken.

Everyone can make a mistake. As you can see from the picture, it is a white meat or black meat?
Don't get me wrong. I love Mcdonald. What I'm trying to say is, if you find the quality does not fulfilled your expectation, ask them to change it. Please don't finish it silently!!! Because we have consumers' right.

For this case, the Mcdonald I went did a good job. They just changed it for me without any question.

bux.to is a scam? How long for cash out? Pending Audit?

I was an active bux.to member during 2007. After participating activities in university, I became very busy so I was gradually forgot about bux.to in my life.

One day, I recalled back that I have a bux.to account and I decided to check it up. The minimum cash out was changed to 50USD instead of 10USD. And, my account have reached the minimum cash out.

But as you can see, the request was made on 17 Nov 2009, the status of this request is, still, PENDING AUDIT. I was wondering how many people are working in this company?

For this situation, I believe all the readers can help me to make a conclusion whether bux.to is a scam or not?

Nevertheless, I still hope I can receive the payment in the end.

The Most difficult subject in my bachelor degree program(Ten Criteria)

According to my exam experiences after 4 years of degree program, which consist of about 40 final exam tests, more than 100 other tests and quizzes, I can conclude ten criteria of the most difficult subject which i had experienced.

1. Exam questions which you will never find in notes, lecturer's slides, etc. In other words, there will be no difference even if you study hard.

2. Lecturer's presentation slides are totally disorder and incomplete. They will just make you more confusing if you are trying to digest them.

3. You have no idea about what he or she tries to present during his or her lecture. More than 50% of the students are sleeping during the lecture. The remainder 50% of the students just woke up from their bed (because this is a morning lecture).



4. Always discusses about some other thing he or she interested in and do not care about syllabus of the subject.

5. Just concentrate on what he or she interested in, and he or she has no idea about students' problem or understanding.

6. Never put priority to his or her students, which is a must for a lecturer. In other words, something or someone else is more important than his or her students during working hours.

7. Always expects that you already have the knowledge so he or she can skip the part in his or her lecture even the part is in the syllabus.

8. He or she will suddenly cancel or change or postpone his or her lecture at the last minute without an official or effective announcement.

9. You have no idea what you should study even if tomorrow is your final exam day.

10. You have no idea what you have learnt from this lecturer after attend his or her lecture.

If any subject fulfills more than 6 of the 10 most difficult subject criteria, this will be a very difficult subject for me. I feel very lucky because I only meet such lecturer once in my bachelor degree. I hope I will never meet such lecturer in my life, again.

To conclude, lecturers have their responsible to make a lecture interesting and easy to be digested by their students, at least.
