Yahoo! MyBlogLog to be discontinued - A Scam Email

This is a scam email. Why? Let me quickly summarize what I have observed in this scam email that indicate it is a scam email.

1. Email did not have the Yahoo! official logo

2. Source of this email is not convincing!!
From: Yahoo! "one.yahoo-email.com>"

3. The link redirect you to other web page, that is,  "http://yahoo-email.com/a/hBNZmRnBs19FXB8XEGCNshZL4WB/mybloglog7" instead of what is shown "https://billing.yahoo.com", and "http://yahoo-email.com/a/hBNZmRnBs19FXB8XEGCNshZL4WB/mybloglog2" instead of the real help page of Yahoo!.

4. If you go and Google the website of "http://yahoo-email.com", you will find nothing. In other words, even Google does not want to index this website, do you think you can trust this website?

For those you receive the similar email, do ignore it and just report to Yahoo!. For the sake of display, I purposely remove the re-directly from this scam email to avoid my reader to be re-direct to those scam website unconsciously. The content of this email is shown below:

Friend Finder

This is a simulation game which will give us a better idea about how spammers or phishers do in internet. This game provides some advices about our action toward specific massage or email in internal. It is very important because, on the one hand, we cannot simply ignore all unknown senders' massages or emails which might really sent from our relatives or friends. On the other hand, we cannot trust all so-called relatives or friends in internal since they might be spammers or scammers. Therefore, it is good idea to have some experiences after playing this kind of game. I hope you will enjoy it.

Public Bank Berhad: Please update and verify your account information. Scam

"Please update and verify your account information !

From: Public Bank Berhad Internet Banking  <service@pbebank.com>"

Again, this email address is very convincing. But the question is... I do not have any Public Bank Account, so far. Therefore, obviously, this is another scam + spam email, again. Besides that, let me show you another two evidences to provide this is a scam + spam email.

1. First of all, please think about why the image and link location is not from or go to Public Bank Berhad?
Image location: http://pearl.com.my/images/as.jpg
Link location: http://pearl.com.my/documents/as.html

Next, according to Google, http://www.pearl.com.my is the website of Pearl International Hotel Kuala Lumpur. But since this is very weird, I not encourage to login this website.

2. If you look carefully, this is a "general junk email" because the email address of receiver is not shown in the email. Therefore, it is possible more than thousand people have received this kind of email in a second.

To sum up, this is very difficult for other people to cheat us unless we are cheating our self by dreaming "this is my lucky day".

Feel free to give me a comment about this topic. It will be a great support to Xaivier Blog.
